G-Man Artist of the Week : Elliott Brood
Tis a slow Tuesday but there has not been an artist of the week in a while so I thought :
“Why not pick an artist of the week seeing as there has not been an artist of the week in a while!”
This week I once again go back to the endless well that is the Canadian music scene.
Formed circa 2005/2006 Elliott Brood released their debut album “Ambassador” on ABC Records in the spring of 2008.
The Toronto three piece , consisting of Mark Sasso, Casey Laforet and Stephen Pitkin scooped a number of Best Newcomer awards in 2006 landing great support slots (with the likes of Broken Social Scene) and enjoyed a fair chunk of radio play.
“Mountain Meadows”, released in 2008, saw the band go a little darker but is definitely a more confident recording containing some gorgeous songs such as “The Valley Town”.
