Familiar Trees
Californian dream-pop band Familiar Trees is Fabiola Sanchez and Ken Negrete and I am very, very happy to have stumbled upon their debut E.P. aptly entitled Familiar Trees.
Surprisingly it was released all the way back in 2005 on their own label, Time Release Records. The duo spent the next five years recording their debut album, Inner Course, which the band state “served merely as a developmental exercise” and remains unreleased.
If the name Fabiola Sanchez (or the voice in fact) rings a bell it could be because you have heard her guest vocals on Eleven Continents, the Ryan Francesoni and Lili De La Mora collaboration that also featured Joanna Newsom guesting on harp.
Their actual debut album Gentle Giant is set for release on August 19th, 2011 in the U.S.
