Kilkenny Arts Festival
Back in June (see here) The G-Man broke the news that Mark Kozelek will play the 2011 Kilkenny Arts Festival. The full line-up has now been officially released and what a treat they have in store for visitors come August.
A full list of events can be viewed over on the official site here but let me give a short summary of artists I would love to see once the festival kicks off on August 5th.
Obviously Mark Kozelek, the man being one of my heroes, but the announcement that Chicago’s indie-rock jazzers The Sea And Cake will play on August 7th has got me seriously rethinking any holiday plans already made for August.
Agnes Obel, who just supported Fleet Foxes in Cork on Sunday, will return to Ireland on August 11th with support on the night provided by the excellent Cian Nugent. Other excellent additions include James Vincent McMorrow, Emmy The Great and Gemma Hayes. Kilkenny definitely looks like a place to visit this Summer.
