The G-Man Release Of The Week is (very narrowly over Battles)
Leisure Seizure by Tom Vek
My how time does fly? When the announcement was made that Tom Vek would finally return in June with his follow up to We Have Sound way back in March (see post here) it was greeted with lots of "yaays" and "woo hoos". The time is finally here so crank those celebratory calls up a notch or two and get yourself a copy from your local record store this Friday and enjoy your bank holiday weekend!
Other releases of note this weekend...
Battles - Gloss Drop
(the band play Forbidden Fruit this weekend)
Black Lips - Arabia Mountain
Arctic Monkeys - Suck It & See
Rory Gallagher - Notes From San Francisco
My Morning Jacket - Circuital
Gomez - Whatever's On Your Mind
The Antlers - Burst Apart
Various Artists - Old Grey Whistle Test 40th Anniversary
White Denim - D
Fucked Up - David Comes To Life
Levon Helm - Ramble At The Ryman
The Middle East - I Want That You Are Always Happy
*If anyone is about Cork I recommend popping in to Jim and Albert in Plugd Records. The new store is up and running on Tobin Street as part of the new Triskel Arts Centre and you can even have a cup of tea and a bite to eat in their new café, Gulpd.
If you are located elsewhere I strongly recommend picking up at least one album when you can from your local independent store. Most independents now take orders by email and post out the stock if you are unable to get to the store so it may be worth checking out.
