A favourite of this blog over the years has been the wonderful people over at www.daytrotter.com; great artwork, great bands, great performances – all absolutely free. Until now…
The DT folks have had to introduce a membership fee to pay for the upkeep and maintenance (not to mention the quality) of the site. The good news is that membership only costs €2 per month and this gives you unlimited access to Daytrotter’s complete archive of performances which is quite extensive at this stage. Listing the names of Bon Iver, Quasi, MGMT, Bonnie Prince Billy, Low, Okkervil River, The Low Anthem, Phosphorescent, Tilly & The Wall is just scratching the surface so there is a serious amount of content to get through if you do subscribe.
On top of all that a new service allows users to watch/hear sessions live as they are recorded not to mention HD videos of select performances and a promised five new recordings per week.
