Forbidden Fruit: Countdown to orchard ordeals - 10 days to go

Oooo. The last day of double-digits in the Forbidden Fruit countdown!

Mazzy Star

Who?: Mazzy Star
When?: Monday, June 4th - 8.15pm Undergrowth Stage
Why?: To see one of the founders of "dream pop" - a genre very much in the now - up close and personal, nearly 25 years after they first formed. Also Colm Ó Cíosóig - yes the My Bloody Valentine drummer - has been confirmed for the tour following his work with Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. A warm sunny afternoon - as opposed to warm and murky like today - would provide the perfect backdrop for this Undergrowth Stage performance, although Sandoval's ethereal vocals would sound just as incredible in a thunderstorm.

Who?: Windings
When?: Monday, June 4th - 2.15pm Undergrowth Stage
Why?: One of the hardest working touring bands in the country over the past few years, the ever-evolving Windings are not too long back from Montreal where they recorded their third full length record, impressively engineered by Efrim Menuck who has previously worked with the likes of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Thee Silver Mt. Zion.

Melodic, carefully carved pop jingles interspersed with a guitar-shred here, a twin-neck solo there. What's not to like!
