The Low Anthem in Whelan’s, 15th June

The Low Anthem return to Ireland for a couple of weekend dates beginning on Friday with a visit to Whelan’s. Read an old G-Man interview with the original line-up here. The Low Anthem appeared on the recent collaboration album from The Chieftains, which also features contemporary artists such as Bon Iver, The Decemberists and more so it will be interesting to see will the track in question make an appearance on the night.

The man with the golden voice, former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell rolls into town later this evening for a mid-“Summer” Olympia appearance while English rose Lucy makes herself at home in the more humble surroundings of Whelan’s.

The Quarter Inch Collective gather in The Workman’s Club on Friday with local septet Cfit launching their brand new double A-side single The Static/Base Isolation in The Grand Social on the following night. Saturday – as always – is quite busy with Come On Live Long (The Workman’s Club), Ham Sandwich (Unitarian Church, Stephen’s Green) and School Tour (The Joinery) all busy on the night.
