Owensie – ‘Citizens’

Everyone’s favourite Limerick label Out On A Limb are worked to the bone this month as the champions of Irish indie music release two quality releases into the wild.

Although not quite released just yet, Owensie‘s follow up to Aliens is streaming away over on the official Out On A Limb soundcloud page. Citizens exudes a maturity and growing confidence from a player who is simply getting better and better.

Windings – ‘I Am Not The Crow’

Slightly ahead of their label-mate are Windings, with Steve Ryan and team having released I Am Not The Crow last Friday (Oct 12th). Something of a chameleon when it comes to songwriting (compare both compositions from recent double a-side ‘The Space I Occupy’ and ‘The Hassle’ and swear it is the same band), the Limerick lads have returned from Montreal with something a little special and, from the gorgeously hushed vocals to the electrifying guitar solo outro, ‘Sun In My Bones’ is one of, if not the, best recordings released by an Irish band in 2012.
