The Great Balloon Race launch album

G-Man favourites The Great Balloon Race have announced the details behind the release of their debut record.

The Cork band, who have been building up a hell of a head of steam in recent months with some scintillating live shows including a G-Man presents… showcase back in October, will officially launch Cardboard – the band’s debut full length – in the Half Moon, Cork on Saturday December 1st. To whet those salivating lips the prog/jazz/rock quintet have made new composition ‘Medicated Hope’ available for streaming. See the video player below.

Official word from TGBR camp:

“We’ve gone to a bit of trouble with the CD covers, each one is gonna be hand-printed by ourselves with a lino print by Theresa O’Donovan for the cover, so they’ll all be a small bit unique. We designed all of it ourselves so we’re pretty proud of how they’re coming out.”

Cardboard consists of ten tracks, recorded, mixed and produced by Cathal MacGabhann and The Great Balloon Race in Cathal’s Cracks in the Light Studio with mastering duties fulfilled by Fergal Davis. These guys are incredible live so, if located on Leeside come the first weekend of December…GO!
