Speak of the devil...
It was as recently as Thursday last that I posted the excellent new video from John Blek & The Rats so it is with a delighted heart that I can announce the alt-country sextet's fearsome leader John O'Connor will play a solo set in Plugd Records in February, joining Fence Records' Seamus Fogarty for the very first The G-Man Presents... show of the new year.
Over the years, I have managed to catch John live in a whole host of various guises including his stompin' big band's brilliance (complete with the incredible Dave Murphy - Monorail and regular Lost Brothers collaborator - on pristine pedal steel), as the fulcrum of a stripped-down trio and simply his good self solo (check out his amazing appearance on The Cork Music Show here), each a unique experience in its own right. Hopefully a fair few folks will be of the same opinion come the end of February 8th 2013.
