Record Store Day: Heavenly Records

Heavenly recording in Paris…

Record Store Day, or should I say Disquaire Day Party (comme on dit dans Paris), provides ample opportunity and downright excuses for record stores, labels and musicians to do something a little out of the ordinary to celebrate the lifeblood of the physical disc. Heavenly Records have decided to grab a handful of their artists and head south towards the culture capital that is Paris ahead of three special HR limited edition releases on April 20th. Twenty two years after the label’s first heavenly night in Paris (which featured Saint Etienne , Manic Street Preachers and Flowered Up!) sees the indie return with four bands hoisted from their 21st century roster line-up for a night of melodic debauchery by the Seine. TOY, Temples, Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs and G-Man favourites Stealing Sheep will all play a bumper set come April 20th.

For those not Paris-bound then there is still a chance to get some grubby mitts on limited edition Heavenly Records releases on the big day. Stealing Sheep themselves have recorded and will release two brand new tracks (‘A Real Clown’ and ‘Do As You Will) on 7″, Mark Lanegan and Duke Garwood release ‘Cold Molly’ the first single from the upcoming Black Pudding on 10″ with loads of remixes on there too and last but not least a split 12″ from TOY and The Horrors who take turns (or sides) to remix each other’s tracks ‘Motoring’ and ‘Moving Further Away’.
