Cork Gig Guide (17th June- 23rd June 2013)

Look who’s back…

Thanks to a mountain of behind-the-scenes work from the diligent quintet that is Dave Calnan, Shane Calnan, Odhran Reidy, Lauren O’Brien and Marc Derham, Friday marks the grand reopening of The Kino, one of Cork’s most beloved buildings. Reborn as an all-ages venue and café, the former arthouse cinema welcomes windings, The Legionnaires and Ruby & The Night Hawks to Washington Street for the first gig of what one hopes is many to come. For a recent interview with the organisers, see corkindependent.com.

Elsewhere, the 2013 edition of Cork Midsummer Festival roars into life on Friday evening with a special City Hall performance from chart-topping, Madonna-conquering Blarney native Mick Flannery. For more details on Cork Midsummer Festival click here.
