New music: Lucius

I Love Lucius...

Luscious pop five-piece Lucius will tour both their homeland and Europe in the coming months in preparation for the release of latest record Wildewoman courtesy of Mom and Pop. Founded by indie darlings Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig ('Lucius' is the name of Jess' uni-toothed British Bulldog), trio Dan Molad, Peter Lalish and Andrew Burri have since joined the group resulting in the party-pleasing, radio-tickling pop exhibited within the free-to-download dancefloor darkhorse 'Hey, Doreen'. To be perfectly honest, the pristine pop sound came as a surprise following a first listen to 'Go Home', a beautiful bluesy-country number and my introduction to Jess and Holly's heavenly harmonies, that had me rattling the Americana rainstick in glee. No matter, they sound comfortable dishing out both - quite a feat.

Tour-wise, U.S. dates start in Brooklyn on the 14th August with a visit to Music Hall of Williamsburg before a transatlantic trip that includes a showdown in The Shacklewell Arms, London on 20th November. For now, enjoy the tracks below and make sure to grab a free download of 'Hey, Doreen' here.
