Weekly Cork Gig Guide: 10th-16th February 2014

This week in Cork: New Jackson, HNNY, college Battle of the Bands, Damien Dempsey and more…

They’re getting deep down and dirty for the fourth year running on Carey’s Lane as Dirty Weekender #4 descends upon The Pavilion. New Jackson, Meltybrains?, Dublin Afrobeat Ensemble, Sacred Animals and more will play sets over the four day weekend that is sure to leave some sore heads and broken bodies in its wake.

Midweek it’s a battle of the battle of the bands as two colleges showcase some of the brightest emerging talent down south. Patrick Street acts as the battle line with UCC Battle of the Bands Heat #2 taking place in Cyprus Avenue whilst Coláiste Stiofain Naofa’s annual Alive & Gigging happens upstairs in The Pavilion.

Also going down around town this week:

Make sure to check out the cd and record fair in Unitarian Church on Friday and Saturday
