Punk rock with a cherry on top…
A recent NY Times focus on Californian indie record shop/label Burger Records brought to my attention L.A. three-piece Cherry Glazerr. Raw as hell and fronted by the majestically named Clementine Creevy, the west coast trio unleashed début LP Haxel Princess on the world at the turn of the year. Pure punk rock energy interspersed with dreamy indie segments show Creevy and co., completed by drummer Hannah Uribe and bassist Sean Redman, have a lot more in the locker than mere two-minute, three-chord bash-em-up punk compositions. I’ll definitely be keeping an ear out for more from CG.
