Anais Mitchell - 3rd November |
Those in need of a post-jazz jump, look no further than Anais Mitchell's first trip to Cork courtesy of Coughlan's on 3rd November. Having claimed #1 in the album of year for 2010 on this blog, it's fair to say I am both a fan and more than a little excited. Unfortunately, tickets were snapped up like sesame sticks as soon as they were announced. South Dakota songwriter Rachel Ries supports, and will also play a number of shows around county Cork in the days before. Expect lots of material from Ghost of a Gardener released earlier this year.
Also heads up Saturday which sees the return of multi-media gathering Quarter for a full day of talks and performances based again in Triskel TDC. The evening culminates with a performance from blog favourite North Side Drive who officially launches his EP Snow//Sky//Sea that same evening.
