FIXITY and Magic Pockets
Saturday 3 December | Triskel TDC | 9pm, €8-€10

Having only put out his first cassette on Kantcope in July of this year, Cork-based drummer Dan Walsh’s explorative Fixity project is set to release its FOURTH set of recordings on 2nd December. Double LP ‘The Things in the Room’ arrives courtesy of Penske Recordings with the official launch a co-headline show with synth-seducing label-mate Magic Pockets who releases his own record, ‘Volcano of the Bleeding Skies’, the previous week.*

*As published in Totally Cork November edition.

This week we tiptoe across the threshold into December with Cork’s live music scene building to a 2016 peak. David Kitt‘s in town, Beardyman‘s brought his beats (St. Luke’s and Cyprus Avenue respectively, both Friday), Lisa O’Neill returns down south (read a recent chat with Lisa here), Hypnotic Brass Ensemble complete their annual Irish pilgrimage (Coughlan’s and St. Luke’s respectively, both Saturday) and Malojian is one of many set to show off a shiny new album. Oh and Cork’s own alt-rockers The Vincent(s) are back after a long hiatus.

Also going down around town this week:

  • Sachal Vasandan & His All Star New York Quartet in Crane Lane (Tuesday)
  • Claire O’Brien completes her November residency in Gulpd Cafe (Wednesday)
  • Cork Record & CD Fair in Unitarian Church (Friday-Saturday)
