Cork Gig Guide: 13th-19th June



This week in Cork: The Wedding Present, Transmission Club, Live at the Marquee & more…
David Gedge’s The Wedding Present take to Cyprus Avenue on Sunday night as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of their 1987 critically acclaimed début: George Best. Ranked by NME as one the 500 best albums of all time, George Best will be played in its entirety from start to finish.

Indie-rock sextet Transmission Club unveiled a new video for new track Taking Off (Blackhole) recently and will launch the single officially down in De Barra’s on Thursday night. For those who can’t make it out west, TC will play an instore at Musiczone in Douglas on Saturday afternoon. Live at the Marquee season also rumbles on with Jenny Greene & The RTE Concert Orchestra taking over the big top on Saturday and Sunday night.


Update:
Following Monday’s announcement expect a raft of rockin’ shows on Tobin Street starting with Oose who play Gulpd Cafe on Sunday night.
