New album – Éistigh Liomsa Sealad

Uilleann piper and all-round multi-instrumentalist Muireann Ní Shé‘s releases her début album, Éistigh Liomsa Sealad, on 21st September. Blending sean-nós singing, and an array of Irish traditional instruments with her trademark pipes, Ní Shé has conjures a world from the old mist, made for modern times. Ní Shé is joined on the record by a whole host of collaborators including Aoife Blake, Macdara Ó Faoláin, Johnny McCarthy and Jake Kalilec.

A unique sound-world, where contemporary and traditional influences combine with the dominating sounds of the pipes and ethereal arrangements of sean-nós song.

Muireann Ní Shé

Muireann Ní Shé is an uilleann piper, multi-instrumentalist and singer from Ballinhassig, County Cork wo is also an experienced tutor of the pipes, flute and whistle. Immersed in Irish language, music and song since childhood, Ní Shé references local musicians and old recordings of the masters as her primary musical influences. In July 2023, the Cork piper contributed two slip jigs to the landmark release, Mná na bPíob Uilleann: Vol. 1, considered the first ever uilleann piper album consisting of all women musicians.
