12 Gigs To Go See in Wexford Autumn/Winter 2025
Wexford heads into the colder months with a thoughtful mix of jazz, folk and big-stage nights.
The season opens on Friday 3rd October with the Dave Redmond Quartet, bringing a mellow jazz set to the elegant surrounds of Johnstown Castle. Ghost Voltage—featuring Peter Murphy, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Basciville and Mirona Mara—follow on Saturday 4th October at Wexford Arts Centre, with Eleanor McEvoy (Sat 11th Oct) and Larry Kirwan (Wed 15 Oct) adding their own intimate evenings to the same stage.
From 16th October to 1st November, the quayside Wexford Spiegeltent returns, gathering a wide cast under its warm lights. Standout dates include The Stunning (Sat 18 Oct), Sharon Shannon’s Big Band with legendary outlaw Steve Earle (Thu 23rd Oct), The Coronas (two shows on Fri 24th & Sat 25th Oct), Lisa Hannigan in an early Saturday 25th Oct slot, and Bell X1 to round off the run on Sun 26th Oct.
The year’s quiet high point arrives later, when Lisa O’Neill brings her striking, understated power and songs to the National Opera House on Friday 28th November—a gentle but unmissable close to Wexford’s autumn of music.
Update:
The lauded Song Room series returns to The Sky & The Ground with two of the most acclaimed songwriters in Ireland set to feature in the darker weeks of the year. Sunday 26th October will see David Keenan drop in as part of his Chasing Myth tour and the celebration of a new album release whilst Niamh Bury, whose record Yellow Roses was one of the albums of 2024, pays a visit on Sunday 16th November.
