Competition : Win tickets to see Amiina in Cork

Sunday, October 30th will see Iceland’s Amiina marvel the Cork Jazz festival with their melodic magic as they take to the stage of the Cork Opera House. Thanks to those lovely COH peeps I am delighted to say we have a couple of tickets to give away to readers of the blog.

Before I get into the details check out all the fancy press release stuff below…

Originally an all-girl string quartet formed in 1990, they gained worldwide
recognition as the string section of Sigur Ros for the next decade. Their first EP
enthralled fans and critics alike when it was released in 2004. This was followed
by the full length album Kurr in 2007 and the beautiful Puzzle last year. By then
the group had swelled to a sextet, following what the band called ‘a masculine
infusion’ which added a drummer and an electronic artist into the mix.

“Listening to the album is one thing, but hearing-and seeing their music executed live is unforgettable”
Irish Times

“At the end of the set, there is a sense that the audience feel privileged to have
been present. It is a rare and wonderful thing”
The Guardian.

To win tickets simply send an email to comps@thegmanworld.com with :
– a subject containing the word ‘Amiina’

– your mobile number

The names will all go into a virtual hat and the winner will be announced on Monday, October 24th. Closing date is 23.59 on October 23rd.
