Aldous Harding’s The Barrel continues to haunt and fascinate…
From the absorbing visual oddity of the co-directed video with Martin Sagadin to the somethings-not-quite-right-here folk perfection of the song itself, Aldous Harding’s The Barrel is a wondrous example of embracing tradition whilst simultaneously stamping every note with one’s own character. I’ve listened to this song so much and watched the video so often this year that my YouTube and Spotify accounts revert to The Barrel by default.
Aldous Harding is set to play The Barbican, London on 20th May 2020.
