Weekly Cork Gig Guide: 17th-23rd February 2015

Carol Keogh – Saturday
Ólafur Arnalds – Wednesday

This week in Cork: Carol Keogh, Ólafur Arnalds, Second Moon of Winter, Hamell on Trial and more.

We’re back to full throttle on the gigging front down south as a host of extraordinary talents descend upon Leeside.  Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds takes his electronic wizardry to Triskel Christchurch on Wednesday for what is now a sold out show. Fear not, that same evening sees the introduction of one of the most enthralling bands Cork has seen in quite some time as Second Moon of Winter – “an experimental ensemble” – take to upstairs in the Oliver Plunkett. Expect soaring soprano and eerie soundscapes.

Ensure to check the site Friday for a full interview with Carol Keogh ahead of her Sirius Arts Centre appearance. For further details on the show see here. For those who can’t make it down to Cóbh, pop a head into Cork Community Print Shop for Hags, Liquid Emotion and more. All funds raised on the night go towards keeping the Print Shop, now a regular fixture in the city, afloat.

Also going down around town this week:
