Weekly Cork Gig Guide: 24th-30th March 2015

This week in Cork: John Murry, Princess, The Great Balloon Race, Booka Brass Band and more.

Mississippi songwriter John Murry is in town Wednesday evening as part of a special Irish tour giving fans a chance to hear new songs from his upcoming album, the follow-up to critically lauded 2012 record The Graceless Age. For more, read a recent interview for the blog with the man himself here.

Dublin duo noise-pop duo Princess team up with the extraordinary talents of The Great Balloon Race on Saturday evening for the latest Plugd Records event in Triskel TDC and, having blown up since the inclusion of their song as the theme tune to True Detective, The Handsome Family play two dates in The Crane Lane Theatre on Saturday and Sunday night.

Oh and new left-field dark and delirious electronic night Nonomino takes place in The Friary on Saturday evening, the first of hopefully many monthly vinyl sessions with James Fortune and Niall Drievers at the bottom of Shandon Street.
